20 Baby Hacks Every Parent Should Know

  1. Use dog poop bags for dirty diapers. Not only are they super compact, but they eliminate odor better than regular plastic bags & are cheaper than ziploc bags.
  2. Moisturize cradle cap with coconut oil and then gently comb out flaking skin.
  3. Put a bottle nipple over a baby medicine dropper so they gently suck the medicine down.
  4. If you live on multiple floors, put a small cooler or mini fridge in your room for overnight feeding supplies. I have an awesome, super tiny mini fridge that only fits about a 6 pack. You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Cooluli-Fridge-Electric-Cooler-Warmer/dp/B01G7IL51Q/ref=sr_1_5?crid=384YO8SD5T55F&dchild=1&keywords=pink+mini+fridge&qid=1598376437&sprefix=pink+mini+%2Caps%2C299&sr=8-5
  5. “Dream feed” your baby right before you fall asleep to help them sleep through the night. Dream feeding is when you rouse your baby—without fully waking—to feed one more time before you turn in for the night.
  6. Bath time before bed puts them right to sleep.
  7. Wear babies in a sling that need to be held often. This frees up both your hands. I’ve definitely cooked dinner for one child while wearing the other.
  8. Use a makeup brush to apply diaper cream so it doesn’t get all over your hands.
  9. Wiping a wet wipe across your baby’s belly will likely inspire your baby to pee in the diaper before you open it for changing.
  10. Put an extra shirt for yourself in the diaper bag too.
  11. Drop droplets of yogurt on wax paper & freeze for an easy baby snack.
  12. Prevent bath toys from growing mold by plugging hole using a glue gun.
  13. The yellow line on the front of diaper’s turns blue when it’s wet. You’d be surprised how many people don’t know that lol.
  14. Save on space by buying a booster seat with a tray and put it on a chair at your table instead of a traditional high chair.
  15. Simply boil bottles on the stove for 5 minutes to sterilize. If you have a big enough pot you can do them all at once.
  16. Pull the onesie down and over their feet instead of their head if they have a blowout. Trust me it fits over their shoulders.
  17. Tracing your finger lightly from baby’s forehead down the bridge of their nose repeatedly encourages them to close their eyes and fall asleep.
  18. A baby light/sound machine is a must if you want them to sleep through the night in their own room.
  19. Gently bicycle baby’s knees towards chest to help with gas.
  20. Cut or file baby’s nails while they’re asleep.
